Fuse board upgrades
The original trade, and still the foundation of everything else we do. Often the first thing an older property needs before solar can go anywhere near it.
Consumer units
A modern board is where a safe installation starts
Plenty of houses around Royston still have a board with rewireable fuses or early plug-in MCBs and no RCD protection at all. Add a solar array, a battery and a car charger to that and you've built something modern on top of something that was never designed for it.
A current consumer unit gives you individual RCBO protection on each circuit, so a fault in one place doesn't take out half the house, plus surge protection, which matters rather more once there's an inverter on the wall.
This is work we do on its own, not only as part of a solar job. If you just need a board changed, that's a perfectly good reason to call.
- Consumer unit replacement to current wiring regulations
- Individual RCBO protection per circuit
- Surge protection devices where appropriate
- Remedial work identified by an EICR
- Electrical Installation Condition Reports
- Work notified under Part P through NAPIT
